A midsummer nights dream of visiting

Birmingham England

Take your family to Birmingham England June 21-24, 2009

It’s the gift a Rotarian gives their family – tell them as a holiday present in December; take them next June on a vacation they’ll never forget.

Discounts for early convention registration

How to save $100/person

Registration fees increase from $280/person to $330/person 15 December 2008

Registration fees increase from $330/person to $380/person 31 March 2009

The difference between $380/person after 31 March and $280/person before December 15 nets you a savings of $100/person.

HOTEL selection – Would it surprise you if hotels closest to convention hall sell out first? Will the most popular ticketed events sell out first? Early registration gives us the opportunity to pick hotels, ticketed-host events, and RI luncheon speakers.

Sleep in Shakespeare’s hometown – Rotary’s hotel reservation form includes five hotels in nearby Stratford-upon-Avon. The Rotary Convention bus would get you to and from the convention hall in Birmingham. Let William Shakespeare, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world’s preeminent dramatist inspire your youngsters. Reserve a couple extra days before or after the convention to take the Shakespeare tour ranging from Ann Hathaway’s cottage where the young Shakespeare wooed his wife to be, including Hall’s Croft home of Dr. John Hall and his wife Susanna Shakespeare (daughter of William Shakespeare and Ann Hathaway), a former residence of Shakespeare’s granddaughter, and the graves of the Bard and his family members. For tickets to Shakespearean plays, go to: rsc.org.uk and use the “what’s on” feature for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s June 2009 performances in Stratford-Upon-Avon. As of August 2008 next summer’s schedule has not yet been posted but the current schedule is an example of how often Shakespeare’s works are performed in his hometown.
