Ronney's Round-Up
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
It is such an honor to be your district governor and carry the baton for 2008-2009.
One of the reasons I agreed to seek this position was my desire to meet the good Rotarians of central Texas. Mary and I have not been disappointed. We are getting to know great Rotarians all over the district and they are doing unbelievable projects both locally and around the world.
As we visit the clubs of the district, I have been emphasizing my two goals for the year:
1. To help each club become the best club they want to be.
2. To express my pride in being a Rotarian and hopefully instill an even greater pride in the members of our district
.
The district leadership will strive to accomplish these goals by providing:
1. Excellent educational and communication opportunities (seminars, assemblies, website, newsletter)
2. Great fellowship and recognition (Bi-national Reunion, Foundation Dinner, and District Conference)
3. Access to district leaders who are educated in the specific needs of the clubs.
I encourage you to catch the Rotary Fever; to recognize that you belong to an organization that is truly making a difference in people’s lives. As our President D. K. Lee says, “We will Make Dreams Real, especially for the children of the world.”
Mary and I look forward to an exciting and fun year. She has taken a ton of pictures. I encour-age you to look at the pictures and be proud of what Your Rotary Club is doing.
Please do not hesitate to contact me or the district leadership if we can help serve you in any way.
Ronney

An Important Message from James Damato to District Governors
As you may know, Rotary Clubs in the USA, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands with gross receipts in excess of $25,000 are subject to IRS regulations, and must file an informational report based on their gross receipts. Starting this year, clubs with less than $25,000 in gross receipts are also required to submit an informational return to the IRS. Failure to do so will jeopardize their tax exempt status, and may result in a fine. Click here for a one-page summary of the requirements as outlined by the IRS. Please include this important announcement in your July or August newsletter, your district web site and other district communications so that it reaches all of the clubs in your district.
Thank you for your service to Rotary!
